NORPAC Foods, Inc., a farmer-owned cooperative founded in 1924, processes frozen vegetables and fruit, along with canning vegetables. Headquartered in Salem, Oregon, NORPAC is Oregon’s largest fruit and vegetable processor and has 3 processing facilities in the Willamette Valley, along with a subsidiary Hermiston Foods, LLC in Hermiston, Oregon and a subsidiary Quincy Foods, LLC in Quincy, Washington. Production QA Assistant - Brooks, OR (Seasonal)

DURATION: Seasonal through November 2019 with the potential to go full-time.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITY: To assist the Quality Assurance Manager in the planning, implementation, and oversight of all Quality Assurance related functions in all phases of plant operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Perform routine quality audits of multiple repackaging line production activities.
 Review product and packaging quality attributes – disposition if/as needed.
 Audit Quality Assurance staff workforce for quality and quantity of work performed.
 Perform sanitation preoperational and operational inspections.
 Review records for thoroughness and accuracy.
 Documentation of key quality related events for management review.
 Investigation of consumer and buyer complaints.
 Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
 Prefer a BS Degree in any one of the following disciplines: Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related Physical or Life Science. In lieu of a college degree, applicants with some food industry experience in quality control and/or production processing will also be considered.
 Familiarity with USDA product standards and product grading procedures helpful.
 High level of communication skills, both verbal and written.
 Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
 Detail oriented. Able to work independently with minimal direction.
 Computer skills to include Word, Excel, and Access.
 Must be able to supervise and direct multiple employees in a fast-paced, processing environment.

HOURS: Full-time. Hours to be determined. Overtime and weekends as needed during the processing season. Rotating shifts.

QA Supervisor - Brooks, OR (Full-Time)

BASIC RESPONSIBILITY:
• To assist the Quality Assurance Manager in the planning, implementation, and oversight of all Quality Assurance related functions in all phases of plant operations.

• Perform routine quality audits of multiple repackaging line production activities/fresh pack activities.
• Review product and packaging quality attributes for fresh pack & repackaging –disposition if/as needed.
• Audit Quality Assurance staff workforce for work performed.
• Perform sanitation pre-operational and post operational inspections.
• Review/monitor records for thoroughness and accuracy of products to ensure internal and customer quality expectations are met.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and stay focused and productive while under pressure.
• Document key quality related events for management review.
• Maintain complete and accurate records.
• Communicate information effectively to other employees of the Company, either one-on-one or small group settings.
• Follow, train, and enforce plant policy and procedures.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other regulators guidelines – such as USDA/ODA/FDA.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to supervise and direct multiple employees in a fast-paced, processing environment.

HOURS: Full-time. Hours: Rotating Shifts throughout the year. Overtime as required, including weekends.
