Quality Assurance Technician (Multiple Positions)

 

 

 

 

JOB TITLE:                          Quality Assurance Technician (15 positions)

LOCATION:                         Salem, Oregon

FULL-TIME, YEAR-ROUND POSITION

SALARY: $11.46 /hour (plus 10¢ per hour swing shift differential)

JOB DUTIES

  • Read, complete, and interpret quality reports and take instruction.
  • Ensure product and packaging meets company and buyer specifications.
  • Observe, test, evaluate, and grade product being processed in compliance with Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Inform supervisor and line operator of any deficiencies.
  • Inspect product case and package to ensure accuracy of code, weight, and seam.
  • Obtain and display produce samples for management review, and dispose of upon completion.
  • Maintain detailed accurate records in accordance with Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work area.
  • Other comparable duties may be assigned.
  • REQUIREMENTS:
  • No experience necessary, employer willing to train qualified candidate.
  • Prefer knowledge of quality assurance inspection.
  • Minimum eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Pre-employment drug test required.

HOURS: Full-time. Swing Shift: Monday – Friday; 3:00pm – 11:30pm. Some weekends as required. (Training is done on Day or Swing Shift.)

Field Representative - Hermiston, OR

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Area Field Manager in scheduling and controlling all aspects of producing the raw product necessary for Quincy Foods and NORPAC Foods to operate.
  • Assist the Area Field Manager with growers on their contracts, planting dates, chemical treatment, harvest dates, deliveries, etc.
  • Assign responsibilities to hourly field harvest supervisors.
  • Instruct subordinates about safe and efficient work habits and monitor their performance to ensure that safety and other Company policies have been communicated and are being practiced.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records and reports.
  • Vegetables grown: Peas, Sugar Snap Peas, Corn, Organic Sugar Snaps and Carrots.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education – Prefer a BS in any one of the following disciplines:   Agronomy or Agriculture, or related field. In lieu of a college degree, applicants with several years of experience in the field will also be considered.
  • Experience in agricultural field work preferred, i.e.: harvesting, irrigation, chemical application, sales, communication, seed production, and development.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to lead and supervise harvest mechanic crews.
  • General knowledge of food processing helpful.
  • Perform duties and assume the responsibilities for the above listed job duties/responsibilities.
  • Chemical Applicators Consultant License, Oregon & Washington

Customer Service Representative - Salem, OR

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: Align all the components of the sales process to deliver a seamless experience for our brokers and customers. This position is the main contact for domestic brokers and customers within the sales process. Responsibilities involve facilitating the sales process from beginning to end and providing excellent service to our accounts and internal personnel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

MANAGEMENT OF THE SALES PROCESS

  • Form trustworthy and dependable relationships with Brokers and RSMs.
  • Enter and/or release orders and confirm order details.
  • Review availability of product to ship. Work with inventory, purchasing and warehouses on shortages to maximize shipments.
  • Provide timely communications on pricing discrepancies.
  • Provide timely communications and follow-up on account requests.
  • Adhere to organizational procedures and policies attaining to the sales process.
  • Participate in training and testing on new ERP system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • COORDINATE EFFORTS OF INTERNAL ORGANIZATION TO MEET ACCOUNT REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve and maintain an optimum flow of production through the facility while minimizing downtime.

Corporate Packaging Manager - Salem, OR

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support/lead a team of individuals to ensure quality, low cost and timely deliveries of purchased packaging materials.
  • Source suppliers and evaluate their potential performance based on quality, prices, terms and delivery.
  • Administer and maintain specifications for all brand name and private label packaging items.
  • Work with Quality Assurance, Production and Sales teams to continuously develop and improve the specifications system and process and execute changes orders as required by these teams.

  • Be a source of information/intelligence in order to communicate to management regarding packaging raw material supply and financial conditions, market situations/pricing and competitive activity.
  • Delegate/coordinate inventory stocking parameters, procurement releases and deliveries to support production schedule.
  • Communicate and ensure production requirements; anticipate supply/demand developments.
  • Coordinate with storage warehouses on inventory levels and problems associated with deliveries and rejected material holds.
  • Conduct negotiations with vendors concerning disposal and/or adjustments of material not meeting our specifications.

  • Keep abreast of new developments in procurement procedures and practices, and sources of supply through contacts with suppliers, trade publications and manufacturers.
  • Work with Director of Supply Chain and Production teams on cost savings and synergy improvement programs such as alternative vendor and packaging material opportunities.
  • Develop and improve purchasing processes to support business growth and new product development.
  • Interface with accounts payable to ensure invoice accuracy, approve payment and make legitimate adjustments and deductions.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management is desirable, or an equivalent of exceptional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in in a CPG company (food or beverage) and/or regulatory environments with a demonstrable understanding of packaging specifications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of packaging materials including Corrugated, Paperboard, Flexible Film and closure systems.
  • Familiarity with general FDA regulations and industry food and beverage guidelines for packaging.
  • Familiarity with packaging testing standards (ISTA, ASTMX, etc.).
  • Strong negotiating and interpersonal skills for dealing with extensive vendor network.
  • High level of communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Experience in managing and directing subordinates.
  • Ability to deal with many varied demands and tight deadlines. Must be a self-starter.
  • Good computer skills to include: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems helpful.
  • Ability to travel 10-15% domestically.
